Rose Marie Clair

Rose Marie Clair, 80, of Oriskany Falls, New York died November 8 2023, following a brief illness. 

Rose was born in1943 to Charles and Susan “Ruby” Clair and attended the Oriskany Falls Union Free School. After graduation, Rose went to work at Cheesbrough Ponds (later Sherwood Medical), and continued employment there until her retirement many years later.  

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruby; brothers, Richard, John, Joseph, and Bernard; and a sister, Elizabeth Jane.  Rose is survived by her brother, Edward (Millie) Clair; and her best friend in life, her sister Mary Ellen “Kathleen” Cossette; along with several nieces and nephews.

Rose, who went by Rosie by all who knew her, was an active member of the community throughout her life.  She was always willing to help a neighbor or friend, and often could be found caring for others who needed an extra hand.  Aunt Rosie loved her nephews and nieces, and although she had no children of her own, she treated each of these nephews and nieces as her own.  Her love for family was always present, and she was the first to reach out on birthdays, anniversaries and other celebrations.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 18 at 10 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Oriskany Falls, New York, followed by interment at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Oriskany Falls, New York.
